I am at 15 weeks. I am not showing to much… but my bulge is starting push out my gut from my previous pregnancy a bit. I have some inbetweener type cloths- you know reg non-maternity shirts that kind of a maternity look. Like umpire waist and ties below the bust line. Anyhow. I am tempted to start to wear those- and kind of start to ‘advertise’ that I am pregnant. Do you think it is to soon to start to dress like that?

I had to wear maternity pants at 15 weeks, b/c i was really tiny before and my stomach bloated out. But i didn’t start wearing shirts till about 18 weeks.

Hey, if you need to wear those kinds of clothes now, then wear them!! I am only seven weeks along and I am starting to get a baby bump. Every pregnancy is different and don’t let anyone tell you what to do and when. So wear those clothes!!!

I say wear what’s comfortable.

WVPV07 January 9, 2010 at 11:18 am

Not at all, dress as comfortable as you can I say!! Congrats!!!

You should wear whatever makes you comfortable, if your other clothes are not fitting well then go for it.. What is the harm in advertising that your expecting.. Congrats!

I started to really show in my 5th week! By the time I gave birth, I looked like Humpty Dumpty. Good luck.

well I’m like 10 weeks and I’m use my same cloth, i think i will wait till i have a bigger belly…but if you fin something cute that you would like, i think you should get it.

Seems like as soon as I found out I was pregnant that none of my regular clothes fit. I would say 2-3 months with the 2nd.

Proud Mommy January 18, 2010 at 9:03 am

no its not too early to show off your growing belly. i started wearing maternity and shirts with the umpire waist when i was like 4-5 months.

its def. ok to start dressing like that, cause your belly isnt going to get any smaller until you pop that bundle of joy out :-)

congrats

IMHO, it is never too early to start. I was totally self-conscious about people thinking that I was getting fat, so I started wearing maternity clothes to “advertise” that I was pregnant at about 4 months along

heavenlildevil78 January 19, 2010 at 9:36 pm

i started wearing maternity clothes abou t12 weeks because everything seems to be getting tight on me but i would just wear regular size shirt or i would buy them in a bigger size. it’s not to soon to starting wear maternity clothes you wear what comfortable for you

Lisa Marie January 19, 2010 at 10:01 pm

Heck no… show your that baby off! I started wearing maternity clothes when I was three months just cuz I was so excited (and I was afraid of squishing my baby with tight levis). When you start wearing those clothes is really a personal thing but I saw go for it!
CONGRATS!

you should dress however you feel comfortable. i stopped fitting into my regular pants around 10 weeks, but wasn’t really big enough for maternity clothes. i did the in between clothes til i was about 20 weeks, but most people couldn’t tell i was pregnant until i told them. just dress however works for you

TobeAlaskanMommy January 20, 2010 at 11:36 pm

Not at all! Start showin that baby bump off! Be proud! :)

Congrats!

codys mama January 22, 2010 at 6:48 am

with my first one i was showing at 2 months and with this one i showed at 2 months so i had to wear maternity clothes

KaeC January 25, 2010 at 1:29 am

No it isn’t too early.
The perfect time is the time that you start to feel uncomfortable in your normal clothing.
I was in desperate need of maternity clothes at 15 weeks and trying to keep squeezed into my normal clothing just got annoying.
I understand what you mean about it looking a little weird if you don’t show much yet, but it’s not like you are wearing full-out matwear at 4 weeks or something ridiculous like that!

Gun Dream January 25, 2010 at 7:02 pm

No, I started wearing maternity clothes at around 17 weeks. But I already had a baby bump around that time, so it depends on the women, her size and her style.

Congrats.

toolate January 27, 2010 at 8:30 pm

Truth Hurts January 28, 2010 at 10:17 pm

I wore the pants at 14 weeks, but Im still not in the shirts.

fox_maple January 30, 2010 at 9:46 am

I’m 5 weeks along with my 2nd. I swore I wouldn’t wear maternity clothes until my second trimester…..But my belly is so sensitive and now too wide to get my pants buttoned. I reluctantly went and bought some jeans with a stretchy waistband yesterday. I’m not happy to be changing my clothes so early…..but oooooo am I comfortable! :)

Purrr February 2, 2010 at 8:50 am

I am three months along with my first, and am already in maternity pants and shirts……

Mommy 2 Be (8-15-08) February 3, 2010 at 11:08 pm

It is definitely not too early! I had to buy maternity pants at 11 weeks along. My old pants were way too tight and I couldn’t stand the thought of going out and spending money on “regular” pants only to have to buy maternity pants later on anyway. I’m 14 weeks right now and I just started to wear maternity shirts.
To answer your question…whenever you start to feel uncomfortable in your “regular” clothes, it is absolutely fine to wear maternity clothes.

Jennifer H February 5, 2010 at 9:49 pm

All people are different but If they are comfortable then wear them because when your preg. its hard to be comf. so wear them now

*** February 7, 2010 at 5:50 am

I didn’t need maternity clothes until I was 20 weeks pregnant with my first child. With the second one, I had to start wearing it at 14 weeks.
