What is a good maternity belt or belly band to use?

Leigh asked:

I’m looking for SUPPORT, not something to keep my pants up. I have maternity jeans and slacks. However, my belly and lower back still ache from the weight of my daughter. What should I be using to ‘prop’ her up?

your doc can prescribe one but they are all uncomfortable

I bought mine at Mimi Maternity for $20.00 or so. It works like a charm!

the maternity belts from motherhood will help or JcPenney sells a maternity girdle in their catalog, it has the belt built into the panty. I used both with my last preg.

try a maternity girtle It worked wonders with my last 2 pregnancies and I plan on using one this time too. you can get one on jcpenny.com for $25.00. It helps support you belly but it helps with back pain leg pain siatica etc.

my mid-wife gave me mine. I would ask them for recommendations if they didn’t already just give you one

have you tried any pregnancy strengthening exercises? the doctor that came up with the birth method i will be using (the bradley method) strongly discourages support bands and girdles because it does nothing to help strengthen the muscles needed for giving birth. it may be something to think about.
