Or do you get maternity clothes in the size you normally wear?

I have maternity clothes in my regualr size.
But I think its a whole lot cheaper to just buy regular clothes and just go one size up. I’m even wearing the same size tops in regular clothes, but i choose fabrics that are stretchy and not so fitting.

Oh, and I’m 21 weeks (almost 22 weeks) pregnant, so I’m already popping out.

You buy maternity clothes in your regular size. You an buy reg clothes bigger but they will probably just make you look sloppy when maternity makes you look pg.

get maternity clothes in the size you would normally wear. but, try it on first, of course. when i was 8 mos. i wished i would have gotten a few pairs of pants in a bigger size, so try to plan ahead. but for the bulk of the clothes, if you would wear a sz. large un-preggy, then the same applies in maternity clothes.

im 29 weeks and i bought my maternity pants in the same size i would in regular and they’re a bit to baggy. as for shirts it varied just buy stuff that has lot of extra room for growth!

depends on your size BEFORE. if you are little and petite, you can buy a larger size in the normal clothes. if you are heavier, get maternity clothes in your size.

Well, mostly you have to try EVERYTHING on! Some brands fit differently. But usually you just buy the size you normally wear. In the beginning you could just get a size bigger, but the problem with pregnancy is you aren’t really bigger all over, just in a couple of areas! :) So those clothes can make you just look fat instead of pregnant. Plus it is so fun buying maternity clothes. It is exciting and most of them now are super cute. Also try thrift stores. There are tons of maternity clothes barely worn!

It depends. I wore my husbands clothes, cuz they fit perfect. My cousin usually wore size 3 normally, and went out and bought regular clothes, size 5 and 7!!! (*yuck*) My sis-in-law bought maternity clothes, but got so big that she had to go out and buy a second set for the last 8 weeks!

For awhile you can get away with wearing bigger clothes (just a larger size) but as the baby becomes more of a “bowling ball” in front of you, you will definitely be more comfortable, look nicer and not ruin (stretch out the larger size clothing) if you buy actual maternity clothes. For that reason (depending on seasons, weather etc), you may as well buy maternity clothing now and use them throughout the pregnancy. :)

maternity cloths in your size and its not wasting money because if you by bigger normal cloths you are still not going to use them afterwards.

you can do either. But buying clothes in a bigger size may make you look sloppy. There are many designer maternity clothing for affordable prices.

It all depends on what is comfortable. At first, I was able to buy larger sizes of regular shirts. But I got to a point where even regular shirts were too annoying around my belly, cuz they fit different. I got a few maternity tops that were cool, and they were SO much more comfortable later on! For those, you just get your normal size. As for pants, I was able to wear regular jeans, as the ones I had were all cut low enough to sit under my belly.
