Yeast Infection In Pregnancy – Discover 3 Safe Solutions

July 2, 2009   •   Pregnancy

When women get a yeast infection in pregnancy, they tend to panic. They want to cure their yeast infection in a way that is safe for both them and their baby and they also want to keep their baby from contracting the yeast during birth.

It’s not a fun situation to find yourself in, but don’t worry, there are ways to deal with it that are 100% safe:

1. Eat Yogurt

If you have a yeast infection in pregnancy, one thing you can consider trying is eating yogurt. Yogurt has plenty of healthy bacterial cultures within it that give off hydrogen peroxide. This byproduct just happens to be toxic to yeast.

If you eat a lot of yogurt, you can help to kill off the yeast living within your body, just be sure that the yogurt is sugar free, we don’t want to be feeding the yeast with the sugar.

2. Tampon + Yogurt

There are other ways to use yogurt to fix this situation, one other solution is to use it vaginally. What you do is apply the yogurt to a tampon then leave that in for around 30-45 minutes.

The healthy bacteria will be reintroduced into your body and it will begin fighting off the yeast. Keep doing this on a daily basis and in 1 or 2 weeks you should see things begin to clear.

3. Tea Tree Oil

Like the previous solution, this too will involve a tampon. What you’re going to do first though is coat it with olive oil, then place a couple of drops of tea tree oil over that.

When you’re at this point, just insert that for around 45 minutes and the anti-fungal properties of the tea tree oil will begin going to work on the yeast.

So if you have a yeast infection in pregnancy, these solutions should be of help to you, but they will not get rid of the problem for good. In order to really get this issue handled, you need to kill the yeast spores, this is something few treatments can do.
